Ango Lighting

Hang On Honey : Niels Bak Rasmussen
The Hang On Honey pendant lamp, designed in 2005 by the Danish architect Niels Bak Rasmussen for his Danish lighting company OiOi, is a novel and stunning option. The shade, which hangs directly on the bulb, is held in place by color-contrast silicone knobs.
The shade is easy to install and replace with a different color option whenever you wish to introduce a fresh color to your interior. The aluminium shade is coated with a 3-layer varnish application. Nine color options: green, yellow, silver, orange, lilac, purple, blue, black matt and black gloss.

A thing of beauty can describe the Skygarden lamp by Marcel Wanders for Flos. Marcel was inspired by a decorative ceiling in a former house he resided in, upon moving he missed the ceiling so much that he recreated it in the form of this lamp.

The Black Fiber Lamp comes from their collection and is breathtaking to behold. Could you envision a dinner party with this light hanging over the table? Their product designs are based on the idea of modernizing the traditional chandelier.

Danish designer Maria Bernstein created the Holmegaard ‘One’ range of lights with the thought of playing with the traditional shape of a lampshade and modernizing it with glass. The One assortment consists of table lamps and pendants, both of which come in either opal white or clear hand blown glass. I am a huge fan of indie crafts, although I post primarily more commercially availabe items, I think there is a huge market of amazing craftspeople that finally have various online portals to showcase and sell their designs. So if you want a unique product then think of an indie crafts person. Check out Etsy, DaWanda or a blog such as Indie Quarter blog about all things handmade.
Today I found Halbeins, DaWanda shop owner from Berlin, Germany. I am smitten with her lampshades - so fresh. Her lightshades come with a free hanging cable and light bulb socket! Amazing Ceramic : Dominic Bromley
British born Dominic Bromley is the designer behind Scabetti located in Staffordshire, England. The region is known for its heritage in ceramics and all of Scabetti ceramics are made locally by traditional slip casting techniques and finished by hand. David Bromley’s work is rather amazing. Drawn to the Light in its standard format is available in circular clusters of 36, 60 and 90 pieces and is made of bone china. The work can be commissioned in larger sizes and varying formats. David Bromley’s wife, Francis, further developed the original bone china design by creating the light in 3 other materials - sapphire blue glass, solid oak or black basalt. All three variations can be purchased.

The Cibola Pendant light is comprised of two bone china light shade parts, a bone china ceiling rose cover, silver braided flex and bulb holder plus a tensile steel cable suspension system. The design is reminiscent of the multi layers of an onion.

Shoal Light
A mass of bone china fish, each 16cm long and carrying delicate sculpted detail, circle a central light creating a captivating cylindrical form. Each fish is lit not only by reflected light from its neighbours but also from within with the light passing through the delicate translucent china body. Both these lights have fluorescent Stick-Lites at their core, to illuminate the entire length of the shoal.
Two versions of the lamp are available that are not bespoke.

Modern Retro : Tom Dixon Pipe Pendant Lamp
As stated earlier this month I am a big fan of Tom Dixon’s lighting designs. He keeps his designs looking contemporary without becoming too retro. These pendants are sexy.

Super Sphere : Tom Dixon Mirror Ball Pendant
The Tom Dixon Mirror Ball Pendant is just to die for. I really love these lamps. They are made of mirrored polycarbonate and are supplied with a 250 cm cable. There is also a mini ball pendant and floor lamp version available.
