Jumbo Universal Remote

Sometimes size does matter. In our house we have 5 remote controls - Speaker System, Cable, TV, DVD and XBox, each different and each increasingly more complicated. When I saw this Jumbo remote I thought now maybe I would actually be able to see the buttons and only have to use 1 remote control. Yippee!
The Jumbo Universal remote control from Innovage has a handy, super sized, backlit keyboard with extra-large, soft-touch, glow-in-the-dark buttons. The universal programming remote is compatible with most major AV component brands. This Universal remote control can operate up to four types of devices including: Television (TV), Video cassette recorders (VCR), Digital Video Disc (DVD) players, and Satellites (Sat).

Tristan Zimmermann Phonofone II
What is the Phonofone you ask? In short, it’s like a speaker for your iPod, only it uses no power. Through passive amplification alone, these unique pieces instantly transform any personal music player + earbuds into a sculptural audio console.
Without the use of external power or batteries, the Phonofone II inventively exploits the virtues of horn acoustics to boost the audio output of standard earphones to up to 55 decibels. Now let’s make this clear, 55 decibels is not going to entertain your party, but it’s fine for the office or next to the bed or for a dinner party. But honestly, if you want to get a great sounding set of speakers that you can crank up and rock out to, get a set of Bose. The Phonofone II is constructed entirely out of ceramic.

Updated : Drosselmeyer Nutcracker
The Swedish firm Drosselmeyer has created a modern update to an old standard - the nutcracker.
Nutcrackers usually employ similar design and therefore also present the user with similar problems. Shells and crumbs flying around, almonds that refuse to get cracked, and the ever-present danger of getting your fingers squeezed off.
Drosselmeyer is designed to fit all kinds of nuts. Smaller ones, such as almonds and hazel nuts, end up at the bottom of the cone and crack easily with the force of the double lever. Larger nuts, such as walnuts and Brazil nuts end up in top of the cone and Drosselmeyer makes cracking these open an easy job as well.
